Hertford Castle By-election 9 March

13 February 2017

East Herts District Council, Hertford Castle By-election,
9th March 2017 -
Vote for Tony Tarrega

Statement from Tony

I have been a Hertford resident for over 30 years and have lived alongside Gascoyne Way. I am well aware of local issues including pollution and congestion. Aged 11 I missed two months of school directly due to air pollution; I don’t want this to happen to you and yours.

My work includes supporting  teenagers with special needs at Hertford Regional College, volunteer footpath work for the Countryside Management Service and a building project which uses 95% recycled products. I am married with three adult children, all of whom were very well educated in local schools.

I firmly believe in economic development, as long as it is sustainable and the benefits shared. I oppose developments such as the proposed Care Home off the Cole Green Way because they will cut into the Green Belt.

Breathing CLEAN AIR, free from pollution, is vital to the
HEALTH of our families & the Hertford community.

I will work solely on local issues and set priorities by seeking ongoing input from you the voters.

Hertford has some of the worst air outside London. The County Air Quality Plan puts Watford, St Albans and Potters Bar first. Hertford is not a high priority – we must change this

First Campaign – Pollution & Congestion

  • Make Hertford Town Centre a Low Emission Zone
  • Make it easier for people to walk into Hertford and to local schools, especially with pushchairs or mobility vehicles
  • Back plans for a new River Lea path, west of Gascoyne Way to the Mimram, the Cole Green Way and Castle Ward homes
Hertford needs an opposition!
The Council is very (48/50) Conservative.
We need a Green voice.

Vote on March 9th for a cleaner,
healthier local environment
